Connect Pack Updater
The applications in Connectivity Package 13 can be updated over the Internet; this feature was introduced in version 11. When using the Connect Pack Updater, you will have the option of downloading and installing new versions of software as they are made available. In general, we don't make every update available, just ones that are needed for either (1) security fixes, (2) major bug fixes, or (3) a major version change. Additionally, if new applications are added to the Connectivity Package, they will be made available through downloads, before new versions of the CDs are available.
Please note that most of the packages in the Connectivity Package will take a very long time to download if you are using modem. Our experience with Hyde Park phone lines indicates that you should expect about three and a half minutes per megabyte download speed: this means a typical, fifteen MB package will download in just under an hour. If you are using a DSL or cable connection to the Internet, the same download would take around two and a half minutes.
To use the Connect Pack Updater, go to Start → Programs → NSIT Connectivity Package → Connect Pack Updater. You will be presented with a list of available updates for download – click "Next" to start downloading and installing the software. As of version 12, the Connect Pack Updater will also run automatically on a periodic basis, and notify you if updates are available.
